Over the past few years (up to July of 2023) Union (West Seneca Fire Dist. 2) was seeking a replacement to combine our 1994 Ford L9000 KME Walk-in Rescue, and our 2001 Ferrara Inferno Engine. After talking with several vendors and doing months of of research, The apparatus Committee decided on a Unit already in production, ordered by Bulldog Fire Apparatus.
Union Squad 5 was Ordered through Bulldog Fire Apparatus in July of 2023. The apparatus was already in Production by Ferrara at the time West Seneca Fire Dist. 2 placed the order. At that Point, the Apparatus was only an Engine, Transmission, pump and cab on a frame. At a time when Apparatus Manufacturing was 3+ years from the time of the order, this Apparatus was already well on its way to completion.
The Apparatus Committee Travelled to PA to check out the apparatus, being upfitted with shelving and storage at the Bulldog Fire Apparatus in August of 2024.
The Apparatus was delivered to Union in September of 2024. After a few months worth of configuring equipment locations/storage on the rig, it was finally put in service December 18, 2024.
