As the governing entity of Union Fire Company, West Seneca Fire District 2 is comprised of 5 Fire Commissioners, a District Secretary, and Treasurer. Residents of West Seneca Fire District 2 elect one Commissioner annually, each to a term of five years. The board appoints the Secretary and Treasurer annually. Outside firms are also retained for special services such as legal and accounting.
Fire District Officers control administrative and financial responsibilities in respect to public service for fire protection, emergency medical care, and other emergency services, including the financial responsibility to purchase and maintain apparatus, firefighting and emergency equipment, firefighter gear, land and buildings to house fire apparatus, equipment, facilities, and office space.
The operation of the district that delivers these services to the community is Union Fire Company. Volunteer personnel are considered members of Union Fire Company West Seneca Fire District 2 covers their training, outfitting, and insurances.
