Over 50 Firefighters from the 6 West Seneca Fire Districts participated in a Live Fire Evolutions at Erie County's Fire Training Academy in Cheektowaga on September 21st. Firefighters Trained in real-time scenarios ranging from the standard "smells and bells" fire alarm activations, to Second-floor fires with extension to attic space.
While Trainings sometimes include mutual-aid companies, Town-Wide Trainings focus on all Districts working together. These trainings purposely break Firefighters from different Districts into groups they may not normally work with. These Trainings are also meant to challenge Firefighters into thinking outside the box. Scenarios are changed sometimes mid-evolution to promote adaptability, as no call is 100% predictable.
