Every year, Union Fire holds a Installation of Officers ceremony to Install Company, Truckroom, and Ladies Auxiliary Officers for the year. Installations are an event held by almost all Fire Companies, in which a Ceremony is held to Install Officers, both elected and appointed to various positions within the Company, Truckroom, or Ladies Auxiliary, all of which are separate "entities" within the building, with the common goal of service to the community.
Truckroom Officers are the Leadership and Support Staff which consist Primarily of the Chief, 1st and 2nd Assistant Chiefs, Captains, and Lieutenants. Every one of which has their own important role in the services they offer the Community. The Chief oversees all responses for service, as well as is in command of the rest of the Truckroom.
The Truckroom is overseen by The Board of Fire Commissioners of West Seneca Fire District #2, the Governing Entity of the Fire District.
Company Officers are in charge of the Fire Company (The membership aspect). They consist of the President, Vice President, Company Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, Sgt. at Arms and Trustees. The President is in charge of the membership and leads monthly Company meetings.
The Ladies Auxiliary was formed to support the members of Union Fire Company, as well as the Truckroom, and Install Officers to lead the Auxiliary.
This Year Union's Chief of the past 5 years Joe Kazmierski hung up his Helmet as Chief. Kazmierski remains an active Firefighter and EMT and is taking some well deserved time with his family, as being Chief is almost another Full-Time Job in itself.
This Year Union Elected Peter Stachowski as their new Chief. Stachowski worked his way up through the Truckroom as a 1st Lieutenant, to Lieutenant, to Captain, to 2nd Asst Chief, to 1st Asst. Chief, and now Chief. Stachowski was Installed as Chief by his Wife, where he took an oath to serve the Community and lead Union into 2019.
